Dr. Gomes, a renaissance man, is also a writer and poet who brings an unique insight and perspective to human attitudes and emotions embodying life, illness and death. He published a collection of poems in 1991-1993 - The Twilight Landscape and an Epic poem - The Poets Den in Visions from Grymes Hill (1994, Turn of River Press, CT, USA). His first novel The Sting of Peppercorns, to wide acclaim was recently published in India, and the Portuguese version, Nas Garras Do Destino was published in Portugal and Brazil (Chiado Editora, Brake Media).
